Right Now

May 7th, 2008 · 20 Comments

This was the first inspirational song I’d written in over 20 years. I’d just started going to church, felt inspired to write something to cheer myself up. I still remember the first time the church band played it. Everyone leaped out of their chairs. Definitely inspired me to write more along these same lines. The most important thing to me was to keep anything I wrote real to my experience.

So, in remixing this one: I switched out the drum machine for real drums, got rid of the strings and beefed up the acoustic guitar and piano. Listen to both and vote here :Vote on Right Now. After you vote you’ll get to download the new version for FREE.

I hope you’ll take the time to come back here to comment as well. I look forward to reading what you have to say.

Blessings;

Cliff

    Dear Cliff: Thank you, probably you have a lot of mails, to answer so I feel honor to receive your good news. Specially Walking thru the
    fire, when I was 11 years old a gas heater exploted on my face, then my exhusband in San Francisco, he works for P>G>E, they were
    laying off people for St, Patricks day, instead of turning of the switch, was turn on, 12,000 volts exploted in his face thru the grace of
    our Lord He heal completely, then his brand new car, in Bakersfield Ca, started on fire. Now I am in Jacksonvile and since last I met you
    on thanksgiving I almost had a fatal accident, I was the passenger and the one that was hurt, so as you see walking thru the fire and
    testing my faith I wander, what is my purpose here? Just felt to share this with you, I will be looking forward to your beautiful music.J
    just to add my brother he was an arquitect in San Juan Pto. Rico, on July 24,2006, checked his new unit of AC, exploted and died burned
    what is about the fire, what is God trying to tell us? I still believe in rainbows and miracles…..

    I really like the new version. It sounds awesome. What did you do to make it sound so much better? You must have an awesome studio! Do you help others with recording?

    Good stuff Cliff. Thanks for letting me have the opportunity on this new endeavour. I think it’s great that you are asking for outside input from us “little people” :-)… Keep up the good work.

    Hi Cliff,
    It’s been a while since we last communicated. I was hoping to see you in Ormond Beach last year, but didn’t make it (my loss!) Anyway, I am very excited for you and your new website and the “personal touch/involvement” you are allowing your fans! What a great idea!!!! I voted on the original. It is perfect just the way it is!!! I thought your voice recording was better on the original and I also thought the guitar??? sounded better. I am not a musician, nor an authority by any means. I just trusted my ears and heart. Wishing you all the best!!!! Diane

    Dear Cliff,

    Thank you for sending me your music. I have to tell you that you should call it the family album. Because it is mostly about family. Also, you hit is love is knowing you. That is a great song. Of course, your dad’s and mom’s song all incredible too. But, love is know you is going to be the big hit. That is what I think. I am going to be honest with you because I love you. Uh-Oh should not be on the album. The rest of the songs are excellent.

    I am really proud of you. You did what you wanted it life. I have to have a operation in three weeks. We will see how it goes. It has nothing to do with cancer thank god. But, my implant has moved to the side of my body so it is to say the least causing a lot of problems. I know you mom will let you know how I do. Please let her know that she does not have to come here during that time. It is fine and I will be fine.

    I liked the Right Now new version better….the words are really great and the only thing I noticed when I listened to it 3 times was that the tune has a ‘down’ feel to it while the words are so upbeat… Being a singer/songwriter myself, it’s hard to critique other songwriters but I always appreciate heartfelt feedback and know that’s the purpose of your asking for the comments - I love your inspiring songs!

    Dear Michele;
    You’re right. I love heartfelt feedback. I really want to know how you and others feel about my music. Positive or negative, it feeds me and helps direct me and I really appreciate you and everyone who has taken the time. Thank you all so much!
    Blessings;

    Cliff, that was a cool song. Everybody’s had “times like this” when it all worked out in spite of our greatest fears and anxieties. I liked the mix of guitar and piano, and the bridge worked well. Put on the album, man.

    I loved the song. I’m the person who crys when watching a sad news story, but now I will be thinking of your song. I really liked the vocals.
